BIO:
Markus Schwarzbauer, also known as Opescure was born in Munich in 1980.
He started his musical career as DJ in a hip hop crew. Later he became a substantial part of Proton in Munich, where he mashed up many drum&bass dance floors. He then left Germany to live in London for 5 years, and was heavily influenced by the local electro scene. For now, he is not only the driving force in mastering the BARA BRÖST tracks, but also responsible for their graphical appearance.
Benjamin Quint a.k.a. Qunique, born in 1981, and has lived in Berlin since 2004. Shortly after his arrival, Benjamin focused and concentrated his musical technique and education solely on techno, a movement and scene that resides strongly in Berlin. Looking back over the years of elaborative experiments to find the perfect symbiosis between Miami bass and new school breaks (Everslick | Munich), he was stunned by the pure clarity of high quality techno productions. This very fascination is what he now expresses in the arrangements and sound scapes of the BARA BRÖST music.
BARA BRÖST:
After hooking up in Berlin, Benjamin and Markus founded BARA BRÖST to give way to a shared vision in terms of sound and groove indulgence. The sound sits snugly between minimal and house- "We take great pleasure in merging our sometimes rather different influences of London and Berlin to create a common ground.”
Their music usually maintains a similar sound aesthetic, and preferably work with self-produced sounds, vocals or recorded instruments. The signature is dry and sharp mastering with many tracks containing unusual and unexpected elements.
Live, they use two laptops, midi controllers and Ableton. They aim firmly at not being labeled “just another two Laptop Djs”, but wish to convey their love and enthusiasm of clever minimal / house to a grateful audience, recently, they left clubbers breathless at nights in Tape (Berlin), VCF (Berlin), Edelweiss (Berlin), B2 (Nuremberg) and The Dirt (London). Furthermore, in summer 2009 they headlined the electronic dance music festival ODYSSEY in Gothenburg, Sweden.
