Barack Obama was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. They didn't have much money, but they taught him values from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. He took out loans to put himself through school. After college, he worked for Christian churches in Chicago, helping communities devastated when steel plants closed.
Obama turned down lucrative job o?ers after law school to return to Chicago, leading a successful voter registration drive. He joined a small law ?rm, taught constitutional law and, guided by his Christian faith, stayed active in his community. Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.
What if every myspace Obama supporter set her/his default pic to an Obama symbol or picture between now and November 4th?
We could watch our "friends" pages change to Red White and Blue Obama...
Join me in this little experiment and set your default pic to Obama and then forward this bulletin on to your friends and their friends and so on and so on....

Alright! This week, our candidate got the endorsement of Alaska's most-widely-read newspaper the Anchorage Daily News. http://www. adn. com/opinion/story/567867. html I'm excited to vote next Tuesday.

You know, I know that a lot of people here love Sarah, and I get why. However, my frustration is that I believe liking the person is not the reason to vote for them. (Honesty, integrity, etc. are all important, but likability is not.) Beyond the fact she has no federal or international experience, my bottom-line objection to the McCain/Palin ticket is that they are wrong on all of the issues. I would vote for someone I thought very unlikable if I thought they were right on more of the issues. I also am frustrated at those who have only one issue they consider in their vote. For me, that is so shortsighted.
I want to see the economy improve because I want to improve the chances of the next generation living out the “American Dream” than I believe they have now. I'd like to see the war end not only because its destroying our economy, not only because we should not have gone, not only because I respect our military enough to want to use them justly and intelligently, not only because I think the politics of Bush have made more enemies for our country and have put the troops in more danger, but because I’d actual think we should be pursuing Bin Laden and that Iraq has been a distraction from that. I'd also like to see it easier for kids to go to college, to see the world have respect for us and our allies to be allies again, to see us have policies that don't increase the number of terrorist, and to have the hope of something changing with healthcare (for others more than myself as I'm in pretty good shape personally).
There’s so much that we need to change. I don’t care if the person running was my best friend, sibling, parent, etc. If they aren’t the right choice, I can’t vote for them. So, my hope for 2008 are still with Obama.
