Barack Obama was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. They didn't have much money, but they taught him values from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. He took out loans to put himself through school. After college, he worked for Christian churches in Chicago, helping communities devastated when steel plants closed.
Obama turned down lucrative job o?ers after law school to return to Chicago, leading a successful voter registration drive. He joined a small law ?rm, taught constitutional law and, guided by his Christian faith, stayed active in his community. Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.

Arkansans for Obama - October 10th - special invite
The campaign to elect Senator Barack Obama for President is coming to Arkansas! The purpose of this post is to invite you to participate in the events on Friday, October 10th!
As you may know, Senator Clinton, along with Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe and other Democratic Party leaders, will host a public rally in Little Rock to boost support for the Obama-Biden ticket in Arkansas. The rally will be held on Friday, October 10th, at the Arkansas State Capitol at 5:00pm. Spread the word to your friends and encourage them to attend.
Following this public event, Senator Clinton, will attend a private reception in support of the Obama-Biden campaign. This private event will benefit the “Obama Victory Fund 2008.” Tickets to this affair are $1,000 per person.
It is our hope that the events taking place on October 10th will not only raise awareness and support for the Obama-Biden ticket in Arkansas, but also raise a substantial amount of money for the Obama Victory Fund. If you are unwilling or unable to attend the private event, your contribution of any amount in support of Barack Obama for President is encouraged.

I'm sitting here listening to Michelle Obama speak at the DNC. I must tell you, that I've spent the last 8 years saddened by the way our world has changed. Saddened by the problems my daughter has to inherit.
She talks about how we KNOW what the potential looks like, we just have to DO something to get it.
She talks about how this week is the anniversary of Women getting right to vote, and Martin Luther King lifting our nation with I Have a Dream. That Hillary Clinton put cracks in the glass ceiling... Is it possible the world is about to change?
I'm a concerned parent, yes. But I've only shed tears of fear twice. First on 9/11, thinking of the unborn child that I would have to one day bring up in the world that would never be the same again. Second, when the sheep of America kept buying that soulless crap, whatever they put in front of you, the hysteria of America....
NOW- is it possible, is it seriously possible? over 2 million people support a candidate, sometimes $5 at a time? a Candidate who is running on fact ads, even when faced with nasty attack ads? A man, who earnestly believes in the good that we can be... that he may be the next president?
