Barack Obama was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. They didn't have much money, but they taught him values from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. He took out loans to put himself through school. After college, he worked for Christian churches in Chicago, helping communities devastated when steel plants closed.
Obama turned down lucrative job o?ers after law school to return to Chicago, leading a successful voter registration drive. He joined a small law ?rm, taught constitutional law and, guided by his Christian faith, stayed active in his community. Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.
Sincere Condolescences to the Obama family...very sorry to hear of his grandmother's loss today... may she rest in peace knowing that she has helped shape and give us Americans a phenomenal leader who has given so many of us so much hope and pride.

o, say can you see by the dawn's early light what so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight o'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming and the rocket's red glare the bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night that our flag was still there oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave o'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave
I can not believe we have come sooo far in this amazing country. MLK was shot and killed in 1968, only 30 years ago, and yet, look how far we have come! This is truly an amazing experience to be a part of!! It's not about race, it's not about gender, it's not about religion or rich or poor or ethnicity.. It's about coming together for one cause.. CHANGE! If we ALL stand up together, we can get out of Iraq, we can get out of this defecit, we can succeed in creating equal education and opportunity for ALL! There has been a mass registration drive like never before to stand up and have our voices heard, and we could not have done it without the amazing support from all of you. Enough is enough. No more Bush, no more Cheney, no more McCain, no more lies, no more war in Iraq, no more greedy, incompassionate politicans allowing our OWN people to go hungry and to lose their homes. We are putting our heart and soul, our money and our time into this amazing human being to help him become the president of the Unites States of America and to change this country once and for all! We ALL have the right to equal opportunity and don't EVER let anyone tell you any different. Under Barack, I promise you, dreams will come true. Thank you all who are putting your differences aside and supporting, and intend on voting for Barack Obama. Together we WILL change this nation... DO NOT give up until we are in the White House and please, please remember, EVERY vote counts!!! Make sure you get to the polls because if you don't fight for Barack, he can't fight for us..
President Obama-how wonderful does that sound? But I still have my heart in my throat. Connecticut is looking good, but I don't trust any polls. We all have to work our brains out right up to and through election day. I'm very cautiously optimistic that a grand new day is coming. To quote Gerald Ford so many years later, "Our long national nightmare is [almost] over"! Let's get out and do it! Yes We MUST!
I loved it when Obama said, 'And you know, Sen. McCain, I think the "Straight Talk Express" lost a wheel on that one!' Obama is wonderful! He is a gift to the USA! He is the change we need in the world! Bless his good heart and family that he win's so that we all win for the survival and strength of our future! What a proud and honorable debate night... I am Thankful to him and As always, Obama displayed himself as the 'best man. ' Peace and Love to you all! Autumn Rain Eyes, United Native America
I love you guys! Together, we can do this! No more Bush for 4 more years. I have never seen so many different people come together for the same cause! Don't give up, keep fighting until November. We ca do this! Spread the word: "YES WE CAN!" When we get tired of fighting, here is something to lift us back up:
Barack Obama promises to honor the best traditions of both parties. He has inspired us, he has raised our hopes and rallied us to higher purpose. He gives us the ability to TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY..!
The time is now! Fight with us! Fight with all you can muster! Let us blow past the walls of ignorance and intolerance!
The choice is clear; our cause is just; and now is our time to make Barack Obama the next President of the United States. Like Reagan once said, "If not us who? If not now when?"
