Barack Obama was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. They didn't have much money, but they taught him values from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. He took out loans to put himself through school. After college, he worked for Christian churches in Chicago, helping communities devastated when steel plants closed.
Obama turned down lucrative job o?ers after law school to return to Chicago, leading a successful voter registration drive. He joined a small law ?rm, taught constitutional law and, guided by his Christian faith, stayed active in his community. Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.

Sen. Obama (soon to be President Obama) I want to extend my sincere condolences to you and your family. I can imagine the bitter sweet joy of a new day and sorrow of a family member called home. I've been praying for you and your family, but tonight is no different. Rest yourself and love those beautiful women of yours.
I just want to say that you have inspired myself and many other young adults i know to vote for the first time in the upcoming election. I have become very politically involved, from volunteering for your campaign to becoming a card carrying member of the ACLU. I just want to thank you for all you have done and for all the great things i am sure you will do in the future.
Barack Obama promises to honor the best traditions of both parties. He has inspired us, he has raised our hopes and rallied us to higher purpose. He gives us the ability to TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY..!
The time is now! Fight with us! Fight with all you can muster! Let us blow past the walls of ignorance and intolerance!
The choice is clear; our cause is just; and now is our time to make Barack Obama the next President of the United States. Like Reagan once said, "If not us who? If not now when?"
Could someone tell me who exactly do they poll when giving these numbers?..I'm a white, 53 year old woman, middle class, and I have never been polled in my life and neither has anyone else I know..I get real tired of hearing white middle class woman are for McSAME according to the polls.
Thank you for standing up for the common person. Thank you for having the courage to run for President and for speaking out on such important, unspoken issues. You are truly an inspiration. I have listened to the history and now, it is our time!! I will proudly cast my vote for you and Joe Biden on November 4th!
