Barack Obama was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. They didn't have much money, but they taught him values from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. He took out loans to put himself through school. After college, he worked for Christian churches in Chicago, helping communities devastated when steel plants closed.
Obama turned down lucrative job o?ers after law school to return to Chicago, leading a successful voter registration drive. He joined a small law ?rm, taught constitutional law and, guided by his Christian faith, stayed active in his community. Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.

Saturday's a big day for Dems in Lane County, Oregon. And, if you're receiving this, I'm asking for your support to help Barack Obama OFFICIALLY SECURE our party's nomination by helping elect yours truly as a National pledged Obama delegate from Oregon's 4th Congressional District.
Getting elected at Saturday's CD-4 convention in Cottage Grove (Bohemia Elementary School - 721 South R Street - 12:30 PM) won't be easy, but I am confident that with your added energy we can make certain that this enthusiastic Obama supporting student (who has recently traveled state-to-state with "Obamabot" and with a shared vision of a better America), can go all the way to Denver to accurately reflect the will of fellow Obama-backing Oregonians at the Democratic National Convention.
