Barack's Biography

"We Have a Lot of Work to Do"

Barack Obama was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. They didn't have much money, but they taught him values from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. He took out loans to put himself through school. After college, he worked for Christian churches in Chicago, helping communities devastated when steel plants closed.

Obama turned down lucrative job o?ers after law school to return to Chicago, leading a successful voter registration drive. He joined a small law ?rm, taught constitutional law and, guided by his Christian faith, stayed active in his community. Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.

Dear Mr. Obama and Michelle,

I know you will probably never read this but I want you to know something. I am voting for you tomorrow. I am very enthused and excited to be able to vote for you. I haven't been this excited about voting in a long, long time. I have voted in previous elections but I voted out of a sense of duty rather than because I was excited or believed so much in a person running for office. The last time I remember being this excited or researching how the politicians stood on issues was when John F. Kennedy was running. I was not old enough to vote then. I was in high school. Since then, I haven't felt that politicans cared about average people. But your campaign has reignited my interest and enthusiasm about politics. I will vote for you tomorrow and when you win the election, I will make sure to stand beside decisions you make. I know you won't always make decisions like I think you should make but I will trust your judgement and wisdom. I will also pray for you and all elected officals as they go about the difficult task of running our country. You are the change we need. I believe you will be the president we need. Best wishes to your and your family. YES WE CAN.

Got my 54 year old sister, who has never voted to cast her first vote yesterday in Grand Forks. One more Obama supporter that voted, woohoo! If your an Obama supporter it won't count for anything unless you vote. We need everyone to seal the deal to have a chance to win this election.

What if every myspace Obama supporter set her/his default pic to an Obama symbol or picture between now and November 4th?

We could watch our "friends" pages change to Red White and Blue Obama...

Join me in this little experiment and set your default pic to Obama and then forward this bulletin on to your friends and their friends and so on and so on....

wake up

wake up sleepy heads
it’s time to change the world

i believe an eye for an eye
just makes everyone blind
i believe justice could be perfect
if we follow it’s flawless design

i believe that children
hate no one when they’re born
i believe if they grow to hate
we’re doing something wrong

i believe that music
can really heal your soul
i believe the human spirit
can be filled to become whole

i believe in action
i believe in work
i believe in respect
i believe we can heal the hurt
i believe in strength
i believe in love
i believe I’m right
i believe in looking up
i believe that poetry
matters now and then
i believe the youth of the world
are about to rise again
i believe in peace
i believe in truth
i believe life
i believe in you
i believe in you

o, say can you see
by the dawn's early light
what so proudly we hailed
at the twilight's last gleaming
whose broad stripes and bright stars
through the perilous fight
o'er the ramparts we watched
were so gallantly streaming
and the rocket's red glare
the bombs bursting in air
gave proof through the night
that our flag was still there
oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave
o'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave

I'm Voting for "that one"!!!

So I was driving to Billings the other day, and what did I see??? Not one single McCain sticker or sign. Usually the 300 miles between Dickinson and Billings is 300 miles of GOP signs every couple miles.

Sep 22 2008 11:22 PM

So I hear Obama is pulling out of ND. I can understand the why... However why was the fact that McCain has never voted for Farm Aid ever been brought up? In a big farm state like ND, that constantly votes Republican. You would think that this would be brought up... Some call farm aid "Pork" most Americans even if they don't realize it call it , Jobs, Safe food, and cheap food...

Barack Obama promises to honor the best traditions of both parties. He has inspired us, he has raised our hopes and rallied us to higher purpose.
He gives us the ability to TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY..!

The time is now! Fight with us!
Fight with all you can muster!
Let us blow past the walls of ignorance and intolerance!

The choice is clear; our cause is just; and now is our time to make Barack Obama the next President of the United States.
Like Reagan once said, "If not us who? If not now when?"
