Barack Obama was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. They didn't have much money, but they taught him values from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. He took out loans to put himself through school. After college, he worked for Christian churches in Chicago, helping communities devastated when steel plants closed.
Obama turned down lucrative job o?ers after law school to return to Chicago, leading a successful voter registration drive. He joined a small law ?rm, taught constitutional law and, guided by his Christian faith, stayed active in his community. Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.

o, say can you see by the dawn's early light what so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight o'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming and the rocket's red glare the bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night that our flag was still there oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave o'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave
I just watched Obama's speech at the DNC, and I am in tears. I have been watching for the last three days and have been so proud, never so proud of Americans. For once in my life I can say I love it here! WE NEED OBAMA!!!! I LOVE THIS MAN!! THANKS GOD FOR OBAMA!!!!!
Works for me, sure enough! Hope you'll enjoy a great week~ I'm looking forward to the convention coverage, and am pleased that President Carter will be speaking as well as President Clinton! Progessively yours, Cindy
First, I still support you - you are the best hope of for this country to regain it's footing. However, I am very, very disturbed and disappointed by your vote for the FISA bill. This is not something I would have expected from you.
Please remember the people in the grassroot moment that has been there supporting you and why we have been supporting you; this country wants and needs change in the policies that have reigned the last 3 decades.
