Barack Obama was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. They didn't have much money, but they taught him values from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. He took out loans to put himself through school. After college, he worked for Christian churches in Chicago, helping communities devastated when steel plants closed.
Obama turned down lucrative job o?ers after law school to return to Chicago, leading a successful voter registration drive. He joined a small law ?rm, taught constitutional law and, guided by his Christian faith, stayed active in his community. Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.
Hey everyone, I just had an idea that it would be cool if a LOT of people changed their display name to "I am Barack Obama". His whole campaign is about us, not him. This might be a cool way to show that.
It's up to you, just something small to do to show your support and hopefully start conversations with people about Obama. This election is so important, we've got to do everything we can, even the little things.

Please make sure you are really registered to vote! In my area they had to clear the roster of registered voters in 2004. Double check to make sure you are registered again. I was surprised because I have been voting at the same place since 1984. If you voted since Kerry you are probably good.

McCain Strategy of Distracting from the Economy
Obama-Biden Spokesman Bill Burton released the following statement today, in response to the McCain's campaign's admission that their new strategy is to distract the American public from the current economic situation:
On a day after we learned that America lost three-quarters of a million jobs this year and a week after our financial system teetered on the brink of collapse, John McCain and his campaign have announced that they want to ‘turn the page’ on the economic crisis facing working families and spend the last month of this election launching dishonest, dishonorable character attacks against Barack Obama. We understand that it’s not easy for John McCain to defend the worst economic record of our lifetime, but he will have to explain to the people struggling to pay their bills and stay in their homes why he would rather spend his time tearing down Barack Obama than laying out a plan to build up our economy.
