Oh. I heard he was leaving, but I had no idea when. I guess a bit sooner than expected...
In case you're interested, I put my music online for free at http://music.beveragestuff.net That would be awesome, by the way! Just let me know where/when if there's ever a time I could appear.
I sent FAA another e-mail, asking if they could fit me in another show sometime. I'll let you know if anything comes of that, though you might know as soon as I do if you're in touch with that sort of thing. Shame you missed it, out of the three shows I've had the opportunity to play, that was my favorite!
Sorry to never have replied, I quit work as Minimalism The Band!, but yes, you are correct - I am Beverage! It was cool to see you at my show at the Library, but I felt it would be a bit strange if I said "Oh hey, are you Sarah Bachman?" I sort of pieced that together while I was there and you were talking with Nick Maupin. Great to hear from you!
yeah, ive been collecting for 3 or 4 years, i can relate on not really having a focus, but when i go into a record shop, i find myself going straight for the, world music, experimental, avante garde, and jazz sections first. currently ive been giving myself collecting ambitions, like finishing someones discog on records. such as im mostly focused right now on caroliner records, &i have felt really inspired recently to just complete the residents discog in my collection. however sun ra's complete discography is my life goal.
but the medium is never my love, its for the music. i just love the intimate experience records bring to music, when you drop the stylus into the groove, you are actively listening to a record, its not some random mp3 playlist you listen to while you wash the dishes and twitter at the same time. not to mention the capability of getting thee beest sound from your records is entirely up to you. i love that.
just be careful, sometimes records and music can seem more important than most neccesitties, and you can find yourself spending alot more time alone, as it can be a very loner activity. luckily for me i have my wife to remind me to eat and listen to music with me. haha.
