Obama has been mentioned in songs by Neil Young and the rapper Common who, in the remix of the Jadakiss hit "Why", asked "Why is Bush acting like he trying to get Osama? Why don’t we impeach him and elect Obama?"

Barack Obama has dedicated his life to public service as a community organizer, civil rights attorney, and leader in the Illinois state Senate. Obama now continues his fight for working families following his recent election to the United States Senate.
During his seven years in the Illinois state Senate, Obama worked with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. Obama also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama enlisted the support of law enforcement officials to draft legislation requiring the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.
Obama is especially proud of being a husband and father of two daughters, Malia, 8 and Sasha, 4. Obama and his wife, Michelle, married in 1992 and live on Chicago ’s South Side where they attend Trinity United Church of Christ.
Barack Obama was born on August 4th, 1961, in Hawaii to Barack Obama, Sr. and Ann Dunham. Obama graduated from Columbia University in 1983, and moved to Chicago in 1985 to work for a church-based group seeking to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods plagued with crime and high unemployment. In 1991, Obama graduated from Harvard Law School where he was the first African American president of the Harvard Law Review.

I know that you truly care and as they return home I know that you will work endlesslly to restore their benefits,so that they can rebuild their lives with pride and dignity. God Bless you and keep you strong as the days ahead test you. We need you to lead our country in a new direction. Thank You, Sandra and Family
Dear Senator Obama, My name is Miguel Santiago and I want to vote for you. I attended your history making political rally at Georgia Tech. Like many, it was my first. I donated to your campaign (not much but I do what I'm able). Donating to any campaign was also a first for me. After reading your book, I decided to get more involved in my community. You quoted MLK by saying that "an injustice to anyone is an injustice to everyone". I attended my first protest recently, too. I marched in Douglasville, Georgia for Genarlo Wilson. I know that you're aware of the case because you've made a public statement in regards to the case (and Scooter Libby's case). I'm sure that you're also aware of the Jena 6 case(s),too. Warren Ballentine, Rev. Sharpton, and Michael Baisden are all heavily encouraging thousands of activists to protest in Jena,LA on September 20. I think that the protest will be another important historical event. Unfortunately, you will be having a fund raiser on the same day in Atlanta. Many people view it as a distraction to the efforts in Jena. I know that you can't re-schedule your big day in Atlanta because you'll leave a LOT of money on the table--but is there any way that you can make a statment concerning this case either during your speach in Atlanta or at some point before your speech? I'm afraid that NOT addressing this issue will negatively affect your standing in the Radio One community. One voice, Miguel Santiago
