Barbara "La Guerrera" is a Puerto Rican urban vocalist and songwriter from New York City. At 15, her first demo was recorded with Angel "Cuto” Soto, a well-known and respected musician/composer. Throughout her teenage years, La Guerrera performed with two church ministries (hip-hop & bilingual), local salsa bands and different venues throughout NYC. That is where fellow musicians and fans began calling Barbara, "La Guerrera" (The Warrior). They were impressed with her strong passion for music and her presence.
Currently unsigned, La Guerrera is featured & continuing to be featured on mix tapes & DVD’s. In addition, to collaborations with well known and underground producers & musicians. Furthermore, Barbara has performed for venues in Connecticut, Tri-state Delaware valley region, Florida, New Jersey, New York City and Puerto Rico.
La Guerrera has been hitting the underground scene for several years and is not afraid of taking her music and sharing it with the world. Her song “Temperature Rise” has been getting radio play on Hot 97fm by DJ Funk Master Flex as well as other radio stations. La Guerrera’s music has been circulating thru the Club circuit ranging from Atlanta, UK, Australia, Canada, Chicago, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, NJ, NYC and Texas to name a few.
Her anticipated mixtape is available and getting great reviews and responses. It’s only a matter of time before all will know of La Guerrera.
Barbara is bringing a fusion of elements to r&b/hip-hop, a new flavor and fresh sound. The “melting pot” which Barbara’s vocals and songwriting bring life too, create a unique and original sound. She hopes to bring a new “swing” to urban music, captivating old and new generations.
