Writing, expanding my vocabulary in non-pretentious ways, profanity--especially in foreign languages, collage art, singing, zombie movies, coffee beverages, Nathan Fillion movies/television/other, anything Apple/Mac, slamming the Bush administration, etc.
And pretty much this, these days. If I didn't have that pesky family I'd be doing nothing else.
Music
Neil Finn, Crowded House, Fountains of Wayne, Ben Folds, Ok Go, The Swell Season, Glen Hansard, Bryan Adams, Suzanne Ciani, Lordi, Caesars, Tori Amos, The Police, Genesis, Queen, and many, many others. You're just as likely to see Pavarotti as Metallica as 'NSync as John Mayer as the Arctic Monkeys as Brad Paisley as Moby on my iPod.
And sing it with me now...
Movies
Serenity, SLiTHER, Once, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State, Clerks, Office Space, Fight Club, 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Little Miss Sunshine, Casino Royale, Creator, West Side Story, and many, many more.
Television
Firefly--the best show ever. Period. Also digging Nip/Tuck, Spaced, The Venture Brothers, The Office, Lost, Heroes, How I Met Your Mother, Survivorman, and any cooking show with Tyler Florence. I watch a lot of stuff on fast-forward with the captioning on. God bless TiVo and the deaf.
Books
I read a LOT--anything from the classics and Shakespeare to pop culture essays and chick lit. I do love the Potter books; I resisted them for a long while due to the hype until I read them and saw it was deserved. For everyday reading I adore Chuck Klosterman, Nick Hornby, Erica Jong and Jennifer Weiner and I'm kind of a Douglas Coupland fanatic. Have you read "The Time Traveller's Wife" yet? Heartbreaking and beautiful. I also dig almanac and reference books, as well as punctuation and grammar guides like "Eats, Shoots and Leaves." I'm kind of a word nerd. Death to those who cannot use an apostrophe properly.
Heroes
My little boys and my husband, the coolest guy ever. Sorry Nathan!

Barbara MSD's Companies
MySpace has crappy editors so I am typing filler here. Please, don't blame everyone in the US for electing George W. Bush-- some of us are aware that he and his
administration are self-serving imbeciles.

Who I'd like to meet: Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Douglas Coupland, Simon Pegg, Neil Gaiman, James Gunn, Chuck Klosterman, Jenna Fischer, Ricky Gervais, Nick Hornby, Joss Whedon, Alton Brown, Keith Haring (I know that's impossible, thanks,) Jenny Holzer, Erica Jong, John Lydon, and basically anybody with a great sense of humor or who lives life completely balls out.
Most of all from MySpace? Hels, because she's my baby. Dawn so I can scratch her behind the ears. Kaz so I can clink my Riesling glass against hers. Martin so we can dish art in person. And Merrie because she's my sister--not through a blood connection, but through a connection of the soul.
Oh yeah, and if she was real? Judy Nails from Guitar Hero.
Barbara!! I miss you! I hope all's well with you and the family. I've been around MySpace very little in the past months. Sorry I haven't been in contact.
Nah it's all good my page is too pimped out to make it dorky haha. I'm still not done doing it up but I haven't had the time... Good to see you on here Auntie!
It kicked ass!!!! I wasn't sad strangely...I was more on a high with the genius of it all!! I have suspect that Nathan will be getting requests to write 'The hammer is my penis' on autographs from now on! Poor guy!
hello my lovely bff who I love to be joined at the hip with :D (remember that phrase? ha!) Let's make plans to celebrate your up and coming bday this weekend. What works for you?
