I loved the concept of Barbecue Rock so much that in an age of rapidly decreasing record sales I decided to make a record company called Barbecue Rock Records.
I promptly signed UK Man Rockers Hot Leg, a band in which I sing and play guitar.
Hot Leg has enjoyed unflinching support from top music writers like Simon Price, Dom Lawson, Alexis Petridis and Amber Cowan, with superb reviews in many of the respected music publications.
Red Light Fever flew into the top 81 in the UK Hit Parade upon release but despite the single Cocktails being played by Janice Long once at 2.30AM one Thursday the album lost momentum. It climbed out of the charts and into obscurity.
In my capacity as CEO of Barbecue Rock Records I was forced to drop Hot Leg, a move which deeply saddened me. In my capacity as frontman of Hot Leg I was absolutely furious and now I'm not talking to me.
In fact, I have not used cocaine, ecstacy, cannabis, Mary Jane's laughing tobacco, heroin, speed, crack, prozac, Diazepam, Lorazepam, Clonazepam, Aprazolam, Rohypnol, Seroxat, ammal nitrate, Phencyclidine, LSD, Khat, Mescaline, Mushrooms, Jimson weed or any other mood altering substance since the day I gave up alcohol.

Simultaneously this depresses me and raises a knowing smile. I keep trying to warm to this idea of you writing hits songs for other people, but it constantly falls down on the idea that anyone of them are any where as near entertaining in person.
