..Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition, AKA BARC, has been finding homes for rescued New York City dogs, cats and the occasional bunny for almost 20 years. Located in Williamsburg, BARC is famous for it's Dog Parade and Show that takes over Bedford Avenue and McCarren Park for a day every summer, and it's shabby chic Cat Loft where visitors can play with the cats and kittens up for adoption. As many of you already know - The Sanctuary is quickly being surrounded by development and we need to purchase land right now to stop the growth before it creates a situation where the sanctuary would have to move its entire operation! Right now you can help the animals obtain more habitat… and also help us prevent having to spend millions on moving and rebuilding! Many of you have helped us with this cause already… and we have raised over half of the $270,000 needed to secure the land – but we only have about 10 days to raise the rest of the money – so we need your help right now!!! I finally got to volunteer on Easter Sunday, and I had a ball meeting all your wonderful dogs, I truly fell in love w/Blessed and Katrina, amazing dogs, we kissed and kissed and gave belly rubs, It truly made my day sooo special. You guys do amazing work. And I got to see Jose on Tuesday showing Sophia, I hope people got to see what a doll she really is and got adopted already. As soon as we took her out, she peed then rolled on her back for rubs, she is truly an amazing pup. What a mix, a Catahoula/Pit, she's gorgeous. She looked like a bulldog/Catahoula, she was sooo funny with that stocky build. I truly had a great time. I will definitely be back. I took some pictures, Im going to send them to you.
