COMPETITION is open ONLY to SciFi and Horror Genres in 3 categories for Screenplays:
Cateogories & Entry Fees:
Category 1- up to 20 pages-$25
Category 2- up to 50 pages-$40
Category 3- up to 100 pages-$55
Every script will be read and scored by professional screenplay readers and writers will be given basic coverage feedback.
Top scoring scripts will be recommended to 3 independent movie producers for possible production and/or option.
A synopsis will be posted on our festival website with contact email for the writer.
Writers are required to have their works copywritten(DGA or U.S. Congress) prior to submission.
OFFICIAL ENTRY FORMS will be available by August 15th.
All screenplay submissions must be submitted electronically; in pdf, final draft, cruxy, etc. NO PAPER COPIES.
Music
AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO TOP SCORING MOVIES & SCREENPLAYS.
Everyone has a chance to win an award, since you are competing against a standard of filmmaking and storytelling excellence. No politics here.

Each submission will be viewed in optimal conditions and scored by Professionals in the field of Scifi & Horror movies.
Top scoring feature movies will be referred to our distribution representatives for consideration.
Top scoring Shorts will be considered for a Scifi-Horror compilation DVD.
Top Scoring Mini Movies & TV Pilots will be referred to our marketing partners for sales consideration.

We're the people who are the founders of the Bare Bones International Film & Music Festival, now in it's 11th year, bringing independent filmmakers, screenwriters, actors and crew together to celebrate the art and business of making and marketing motion pictures.
We also produce the Bare Bones Script-2-Screen Film Festival, now in it's 8th year, bringing greater attention to the screenwriter's journey to bring their vision to the big screen and to celebrate the success of goal achievement in a big way.
Our training camps help indie actors and directors to sharpen their skills in a supportive environment where anything is possible. We encourage the people we encounter to expand their knowledge as well as their contacts in order to grow their possibilities.
This focus on the Sci-Fi genre and the Horror genre is to help bring exposure to actors, directors, cinematographers and writers as they display their skills in this most popular genre. You can truly be an unknown and yet gain the financial rewards and public recognition for your works in this genre more so than any other.
An Award of Excellence will be another tool you can use in your arsenol for marketing and public relations to better promote your project.
If you are able to have your movie screened before a live audience of Sci-fi/Horror fans or to have your screenplay read out loud in front of producers and production executives, or to have your movie join a DVD compilation, we feel that you will feel the success of your labor.

From soft spoken acoustic folk to raving, churning dirge tunes; from a noisy, industrial cover of a Sonic Youth song to oldschool punk from when it was still raw, fast, and unforgiving. Powerviolence peppers the grounds where spooked whispers whinny along, and the caustic words of a madman festering in his own mind play out over perpetually plucked guitar strings. A true honour it is to work with these amazing artists, and I do hope we can keep them coming back for years.
