A mixture of soul, acoustic rock, modified blues, a touch of reggae, and a hint of jazz. Enjoy.
Barefoot West is a quartet of musicians who come from all different musical backgrounds and influences to form their own catchy and unique smooth sound. A combination of good songwriting, warm tasteful grooves, tight playing, strong soulful vocals, and southern charm are just a few things that are making Barefoot West a new favorite among music fans in Southwest Virginia. This group of musicians make you feel so welcome at their shows that you feel like you're part of the family.
Here are some written reviews from other musicians as part of the reviewing process on garageband.com.
Cool groove, nice cool laid back feel! The vocals are great, lends well with the genre. The harmonies are cool, very nice. The arrangement is very good in my opinion. Pretty much classic.
You've got a very "storyteller" vibe going on here.
Very smooth vocals. Almost has a island type feel with the guitars. Reminds a little of Sublime.
Liking the vocals more as the song goes along, this guy's got a good voice. I would like to hear it remixed, give it a little more edge, Brad Nowell like, because I can tell the potential is there.
This is really easy to just "get into" i found myself instantly dancing to this, which is always good. This is really original, one of the best here.
First off, Nice reggae feel. I love it. The Lyrics are very catchy.
Very simple clean production. The lyrics are crafty and flow nice with the melody. All in all, you sound like a fun group to go listen to while chilling with a cold Corona.
I am not sure if I am listening to jack Johnson but sure sounds like it, very tight and great sounding, the mood is very lazy mellow.
You guys have been hanging around smoking and drinking loads of alcohol listening to sublime . Admit it.. he he. There is a lot to like though I think the feel is great.
...and that's Barefoot West straight from the listener's mouth.

Hey guys whats up? Hey my girlfriend Nicole is running for the 2009 Dean girl of the year. All you have to do is click this link and then click the little 11 on her thermometer to vote. You dont even have to provide any information. She needs as much participation as possible cuz the 1st place winner gets all kinds of certificates and photo shoots including a 3000 dollar Dean guitar shopping spree. Also dont worry about even giving the other chicks a bad score cuz that can even help them. She would greatly appreciate your vote!!!
Barefoot West ROCKS! Thanks guys for a great 4th of July show. You really are the BEST! A special thanks to Shannon for filling in with percussion...you did fabulously brother! I will always be your # 1 Granny Groupie! :-)
