Barely Standing is a high energy female-fronted hard-edged rock band with a glossy classic rock sound. Barely Standing is THE party band for the Chicago LGBT community! Barely Standing provided the entertainment at the 2006 Chicago AIDS Run/Walk, participates in the Chicago Pride Parade yearly, and has made appearances at the Flesh Hungry Dog music revue. Barely Standing helped to represent PFLAG in the 2007 Palatine July 4th parade and with their good friend and sponser Dr. Zukowski (www.facesculptor.com), Barely Standing rocks the house yearly at the after party for the Be All convention.
The band is lead by trans bassist Stevie and is fronted by classically trained vocalist Melissa. The band's outstanding guitarist, Mike and drummer Jack Manzella complete the line up. Barely Standing was voted Chicago area's Best Rock Band in 2001, Best Alternative Rock Band in 2005 and Best Cover Band in 2006 by Chicago's Suburban Nite Life Magazine.

Just passing by to wish you a great week and to tell that i have already more than 20 songs ready for the next Temple of Sin cd which should be ready until september. Band has now a new drummer and a bassplayer and before hitting the studio, we will play some shows around south america. Later this year we get the band to europe and hopefully USA and Japan.
