Bar Fly, the latest bar concept from Terry O'Halloran, will open Thursday, August 2, 2007. Bar Fly is located at 707 N 114th St., in the space formerly occupied by SHAG, a Vodka Bar.
This is O'Halloran's 11th bar concept in Omaha, in addition to Fremont Street Reggae and Blues, a live music venue he operated in Las Vegas from 1993-1996. His Omaha concepts, in the order of their openings: The Original 18th Amendment Saloon, Paddy Murphy's, O'Toole's Karaoke Bar, The Wooly Bully, The Sound Asylum, Terry O's Pints and Pizza, The 18th Amendment Saloon on 96th & L, Murphy's Lounge, SHAG, a Vodka Bar, and The Lift. Murphy's Lounge (96th & L St.) and The Lift Lounge (98th & M St.) are currently operating in southwest Omaha.
Bar Fly will be decorated in "Rock and Roll", with Subway-Size posters of Rock's most influential artists ranging from The Stones and Bob Dylan to The Grateful Dead and The Clash. In addition, some of Rock and Roll's best lyrics will be plastered on the walls.
The bar will be open 7 nights a week with a Video Juke Box providing the entertainment Monday thru Thursday. The video Juke box will be the second one placed in Nebraska, with the other being at The Lift.
Tap Beer will be available, along with an extensive liquor list. Thursday Night's Sex-Discrimination Party, featuring $2.50 U-Call-Its is anticipated to draw capacity crowds.
