Scott Eperson (Barney) has experience in public broadcasting, theater, and he has been a law enforcement officer for over 25 years.
Bruce Newman (Gomer) was a law enforcement officer for 20 years and a police chief for 10 years.
As you can see, both of these guys are well qualified to hold down the crime rate in Mayberry!
