.... Click Here To Order the New Full Length CD - 19 Songs! ...... THE BAR NICKELS.. Barnickels is simply this.... An idea ... as you sit and listen to Y2K punk rock and it all sounds the same. Whiny bullshit. Why not get your fucking drums out of the attic and let's play punk rock like we did in the 80's except with a new school metal drum sound and classic revised, positive punk rhythm? And then the line, [Mike Riley] "Arrrgh, I know the best name for a band ever, ..(Hickup). - BARNICKELS.. .. So the dust cleared and barnickels was born, raw and ready. To top it all off, Todd Huber is a proud new parent of a new Gen baby. YEAH! .. Barnickels is playing music with attitude and energy that just says Go! With a past concreted in Old School Punk rock, Skating, Surfing [shit just boarding] and Crazy metal on 11, The beat goes on...... Enjoy the Ride!.. BarNickels.. .. Chad Jenkins, Todd Huber, Lucas Lee Hale, Joe G [and special guest Mark Green] .. .. October 2005--- .. Twenty years is a long time to wait. For Chad Jenkins, Todd Huber, and Lucas Lee Hale, it's been a period of intense creative and personal growth, making careers and supporting families since being entrenched in the early 1980 punk rock scene. Taking breaks from previous punk rock bands, each has found a way back into playing that old school punk rock with a defined surfing and skateboarding influence. Like most groups, their beginnings were modest, featuring productions of original punk rock in local music scenes, opening for touring punk rock bands like Dead Kennedys, DOA, Black Flag, etc. In the early 1980's, Chad Jenkins was the lead singer for Agent 86, Corrupted Youth and New Civilization, from 1984 to 1998 Todd Huber was the drummer for The Stiff Richards and Vegas, opening for acts such as Sublime and Reverend Horton Heat, and in the 80's Lucas Lee Hale was bass and vocals for Mental Enema, 976 and Institutional Mentality. Wow, that's a lot of name dropping! Following a collection of underground and self-recorded music, the various groups finally dissolved like the great California skateboard parks of the 1980's. In the summer of 2004, the three found themselves inspired to bring back the old punk rock sound, start a band and immerse themselves in developing original new songs. In November 2004, the group set up in the garage and recorded a live demo of the new material in one take and done in two hours. In December 2005, BarNickels opened up at The Pound in San Francisco to launch a renewed career in music. In March, the group took a little more time and recorded the single Valley Surprise and re-released the demo CD to include the new song. The BarNickels' demo CD is a humble beginning to a new start in an old punk rock style. It is the desire of all the band members to share their passion for music and positive energy to all those who will take the time to listen. Enjoy! More to come.....Bar Nickels are constantly writing and recording new material.
