    Barn Restaurant's Interests
GeneralAnything that that helps our local community. Friday Nights at The Barn are Open Mic Night. Starting at 7pm. If you have talent... bring it on! If you don't have talent you want to share... sit back, order a drink and enjoy! We have some awesome talent appearing weekly! THIS IS NOT KARAOKE! A great time had by all that attend!
MusicIn the Main Dining Room we have easy listening music at all times. The Tavern music is a little more lively. If you are lucky you can hear any one of B Kiddo's homemade mixes which vary from Classic Rock to Jazz to Country and anything else someone wants to hear. On some nights you might even hear (and see) the Chicken Dance.
MoviesWe have been known to show a movie or two on our 8ft screen in The Tavern. Do not expect to see movies during any play off series, March Madness, World Series, Superbowl or Election. Sit at the bar for five minutes and you can tell who the Red Sox Fans are and who are Yankees fans... baseball talk doesn't end at the bar because the season does.
TelevisionAll network games are broadcast upon request. Certain times of the year requests are not neccesary. (That would be baseball season) Besides sporting events we do broadcast special reports of local and national news as it is happening. We also carry local and national elections.
BooksOh does the staff at The Barn love to read! Ask us what we are reading. Chances are one of us will be reading something by one of our local authors and regulars. Dean Koontz, Jon Katz and Steven King are popular in The Tavern.
HeroesPorter Brown is an example of one of the Barn Heroes. And there are many. Charismatic and enchanting, Porter is deeply missed by The Tavern staff. Every Manhattan is made in his memory. Anyone who dines with us and shares their story is our hero.

Envision if you will - The lighting is low so not to miss the glow from romantic fire in the magnificent stone fireplace, candlelit table in the elegant main dining room, the server just uncorked a bottle of Pinot Noir. On the table, next to the basket of steaming rolls, lies an enticing offering of Calamari. Once gone, the Calamari is replaced with a salad of mixed greens and seasonal vegetables topped with our unique, yet delicious, Maple-Dijon Vinaigrette. And that is just the first act. Just wait for the Prime Rib, Lobster or any other of the selections from our menu to appear. The aroma alone is filling. The only thing missing from this image is YOU! Oh, let’s not forget the wide variety of cocktails, cordials and after dinner drinks from the bar. The dinner plates are cleared and a snifter of Hot Chocolate Butter Rum sits waiting to be tasted. Complimented only by a slice of Bourbon Pecan Pie or Chocolate Truffle Cake. The check is presented and the diners are pleasantly surprised. Not interested in the style and sophistication of a dining room? No problem, gotcha covered! Check out the relaxed atmosphere in the Tavern. At a table or at the bar, chat with the local “elite” and enjoy a burger and a beer. How about a Caesar Salad (with Chicken or Shrimp) while listening to farmers debate Global Warming or talk about the local wildlife. (Human or nonhuman). The Dining Room menu is offered in the Tavern as well as great sandwiches and satisfying salads. Don’t forget about the bar brainteasers and the from the bar coaster toss! So not to let the Main Dining Room have ALL of the atmosphere there is a warming stone fireplace in the Tavern as well. (Both fireplaces are real wood burning) We look forward to meeting you. Make sure you introduce yourself and become part of The Barn Restaurant Family. Here are some selections from our Dinner Menu -

I would just like to say thank you to the barn and of course my mother for making the whole mac n cheese thing happen! It takes a big heart to do what was done, and I am glad to see that I am so closely tied to those involved!

I love all of you guys!

I need real food!

Unfortunately I work every hour of my life and can only eat our clam chowder from a can or a salad that is turning pink.

I miss you guys and your food!

Hey Traci! Welcome to cyberworld. Rumors, eh? In Pawlet?! You and I both know there's no gossiping in Pawlet! Hah--hope nothin bad. I'm trying to get out west to ski bum this winter but it's been tough. Right after radiation was over I got meningitis due to a weakened immune system. What can you do? Hope to see you again this summer--you're still the best, Trace. P.S.: Check out my new music profile: www.myspace.com/larrydressellmandolin
Cheers!
