I read a ton. So, this is pretty impossible to answer. Here are some of my favorite adult novelists (in alpha order): Margaret Atwood, Timothy Findley, Nick Hornsby, Margaret Laurence, Elmore Leonard, Elinor Lipman, Alice Monro, Carol Shields, Anita Shreve, Sherry S. Tepper, Miriam Toews, Anne Tyler
About me: I'm a middle grade/Young Adult writer. I SO DON'T DO MYSTERIES, my first humorous middle grade mystery (and the first in the series), sold to Random House. Estimated publication date is Dec. 2008. I'm still wandering around in a daze, pinching myself.
Sherry (short for Sherlock) is your typical thirteen year old. She wants more mall time, less homework and a certain eighth-grade boy. Instead, she's recruited by her mother's ghost to prevent a rhino heist at San Diego's Wild Animal Park.

Sorry the link doesn't work. Something about my background not working with the myspace software. All very fuzzy for me.
A few random facts:
#1 I'm very good at multi-tasking. For example, I rarely leave the house without making sure a machine is running. Like, say, the washing machine. Which means the laundry is getting done while I'm out shopping while chatting on my cell.
#2 I only make measurable and attainable New Year's resolutions. Here are two I've been successful with: I will floss daily. I will drive through the car wash every other week.
#3 I would like to work the night-shift at a 24-hour gas station. It wouldn't be very busy so I'd get lots of reading and writing done while getting paid. I just realized this ties into #1!
#4 Given the opportunity, I will eat black or red licorice until I'm sick.
Who I'd like to meet: readers, writers, librarians, booksellers, new friends, old friends, select old boyfriends, Kevin Bacon, Neil Young, David Caruso, the nieces (Ha!)
*NOTE*: My readers are tweens and teens. Please keep this in mind when making friend requests and when posting. Thank you!
How's that first draft coming along? Can you share any of the plot ideas with us? I am really looking forward to your book release. Sounds like a fun story and one that I can share with my class.
Super congrats on selling your book!!! and thanks for adding me! Do let your publisher know we'd love to review your book at the CCF site. Contact info is on myspace blurb. Wonderful to meet authors here in myspace!
