BarrioSud è il punto di incontro delle genti che ballano sotto il sole, un posto con influenze meticce e multirazziali.
La Sardegna (centro del mediterraneo) diventa un punto dove Cuba ,la Jamaica, l'Africa e tutta l'America Latina si incontrano. Con questi presupposti nasce il progetto Barrio Sud, un gruppo di musicisti con influenze diverse che si incontrano e decidono di esprimere il loro sentire in un genere (patchanka) che abbatte ogni barriera fra i diversi stili di musica e ogni concerto si trasforma in un viaggio danzante fra Kingstone e L'Havana passando dalle Ande ai Deserti africani con base nell'amata Sardegna. Nei testi mettiamo il nostro impegno contro ogni forma di intolleranza, di razzismo e fascismo, la denuncia della miseria.

Barrio Sud is the meeting place for people dancing in the sunshine, a place with hybrid and multiracial influences.
Sardinia, situated in the center of the Mediterranean, becomes the meeting place of Cuba, Jamaica, Africa and all Latin America.
Moving from these assumptions, the Barrio Sud Project came into being. It means a group of musicians with different influences who meet and decide to express their feelings in a genre (patchanka) which breaks all kinds of barriers of different musical styles (of openly afro-caribbean roots), which turns concerts into a dancing trip between Kingstone and Havana, crossing the Andes and African deserts, having Sardinia as its basis.
By reading the Barrio Sud's lyrics, you realize how the group are deeply committed against any kind of intolerance, of racism and fascism and for the denunciation of social indigence.
Party and Fighting (Fiesta y lucha) is the Barrio motto..

Le Barrio Sud ( litteralment le quartier sud) est le point de rencontre des gens qui dancent sous le soleil, un endroit avec des influences metisses et multiraciales. La Sardaigne( fisiquement au centre de la Mediteranne) devient un point ou Cuba, la Jamaique, L'afrique et l'Amerique Latine se rencontrent.
Ici nait le projet Barrio Sud, un groupe de musiciens avec differentes influences qui se rencontrent et decident de s' exprimer sur un genre (patchanka) qui abat toutes barrieres entre les differents styles musicaux afro-caraibiques et transforment les concerts en un voyage qui danse entre Kingston et L'Havana en passant des Andes aux deserts africains. Mais la base pour toujours en Sardaigne. En ecoutant les textes on s'aperçoit tout de suite comme le Barrio se bat contre toute forme de intolerance, racisme et fascisme en denonant la misere.
