'Two young performers who confidently uphold the richness of the British folk tradition with superbly crafted self-written songs and fine interpretations of English folk song, beautifully sung with great sincerity and with impeccable musical accompaniment. Their beguiling lyrics often draw upon the stories, legends and folklore of the South-West. These two are well loved by our audiences and we strongly recommend them to all other clubs, large or small.' Della and Chris Hooke, The Red Lion Folk Club 'Folk Club of the Year' BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2006

Revitalising the tradition with dynamic instrumentation, rousing singing and masterful song-writing. Barron Brady are acclaimed for performing a diverse repertoire of beautifully crafted self-penned songs and well-chosen and brilliantly arranged English folk song. They perform with a virtuosity and verve, at one moment entertaining the audience with their inimitable humour, the next moving them to tears with piercing songs.
A Barron Brady performance is inspiring and enchanting, they create a much bigger sound than is generally expected from a duo and they have an assured presence on the large or small stage
AS one reviewer put it ‘Barron Brady demonstrate most clearly in their work the relevance of the old tradition expertly employed to reflect a modern world’
The Law of Return tour 09 sees Barron Brady travelling throughout the UK promoting a new album imbued with a sense of the landscape of England
It's taken me a bit of time to reply I'm afraid. Glad to hear you dried out and got back from Southwell safely! The singaround went well - numbers swelled by morris dancers sheltering from the downpour! Best Wishes, Martin.
Sorry you couldn't make Corsham last week Ros, but after Si's wonderful solo performance you know you'd be welcome back every week! Sheer magic, and I'm really looking forward to seeing you both very soon. Best wishes Henry
Thanks very much guys! Really good to meet you both as well, and I really enjoyed hearing you play. Hopefully we'll run into each other again before too long!
Yes, you too! I'm really glad I went for a few hours; an inspiring revision break! I have uploaded your CD onto my iPod, and it's getting me through the tedious hours with the textbooks.

The word of the day is perseverance, something I'd be willing to bet you got a lot of. If you run across a naysayer, tell 'em to go back under the rock they crawled out from!
Hi Simon, thanks, it wasn't too bad at the Tradesmans I think the first 3 rows heard the words :) Enjoyed your set anyway despite being right at the back. Thanks for yr kind comments, I wrote that song before the US election, after which it became a bit superfluous, but you never know it might be needed in future! cheers, Peter
cheers Si! always much appreciated from you!

You heard we're back in the Tradesman Arms on the 27th Febraury, Simon & Ros? Come if you can - it promises to be a delectable night. Mike Edwards will be playing an improvised raag on a unique cello-based instrument, which is the only one in the WHOLE WORLD. It was built by Nigel, our Trade Winds poet who was born in India
Simon & Ros ~ your songs are outstanding. Thanks for the 'Befriending' ~ Great to talk to you at Bideford 08. Have a great year. My New Year's wish ~ to be able to finger-pick half as well as you Simon!
