T. Rex, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Allman Brothers Band, Yes, The Police, Sting, Peter Frampton, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones and countless other Gods Of Rock...but perhaps more importantly, my local influences here in New England-Mark Sandman, Sam Black Church, Hank Decken and Rosie/Nevada Beach, The Dogs of Bangor( Buddy, Kurt, Dennis and Shawn), Bebe Buell (to who I owe much in influence and road experience in the real world of rock music), Kip Brown and the mighty Wild Hearts of Portland, The Whigs of Portland(Paul, Lance and Dave),Rotors to Rust(Ed Gaines and crew) Manny Verzosa, The Holy Bones( god, they were a great band) Shack Bully, Dave Rankin and all of the musicians of the Northeast I have had the honor and privilege to rub shoulders with over these years.
The Barry Arvin Young Band is a southern New England rock band that has been writing, recording and doing shows in the northeast region of the country for many years, starting on Congress Street in Portland Maine in the early 1990s and working state and region wide in the years following. Understanding that promoting a new band and a sound would mean more than just being known in downtown Portland, Young and company hit the road, covering Maine and New Hampshire literally from one end to the other, corner to corner and end to end, promoting the band's name and sounds everywhere it went. These days it is difficult indeed to find a part of northern New England that this rock trio has not performed in at some point in recent times. Whether playing dancehall favorites or their own style of progressive rock, this group has proven itself to be one of New England's longest enduring and hardest working outfits, adding more fans and airplay as they go. Fronted by singer/guitarist/songwriter Barry Arvin Young, he is currently accompanied by rock legend Tom Hall on bass and vocals and newcomer to the group Jason Young on drums.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................
