Barry Black and the White Temptations on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

The band was found in autumn 2004. We played our first show at a party at the "Popkomm" in Berlin. The original line up was singer/bass player Jairzinho, Guitarist Saint and Drummer Buscini, some weeks later Flute and Sax Player Frank Hartwig and Percussionist Markus Ghazi joined. This is still the line up, though we have some guest musicians on a permanent basis. All of us always loved soul music, especially 70s style. Thats what we have in common. But some of us also like Funk, Reggae, Jazz and Latin, and even Hip Hop and Electronic Dance Music. You will find all of those influences on our records. And, of course, in our live shows. We always considered ourselves a live band. In summer 2005 we were offered the chance to record a couple of songs in a studio near Hamburg, with the help of producer and engineer Peter Hoffmann. Within a week we recorded 10 tracks "live" in the studio. We didnt use any overdubs and released the stuff as our first CD, entitled "Its not my Revolution if I cant dance to it" On our second CD "On a Natural High" we worked together with a brass section, consisting of tenor and alto sax, trumpet and trombone and added keyboards: Rhodes, B3 and Clavinet. This made the whole record sound like a "big band". Influences were: Earth Wind and Fire(though we wouldnt dare to compare), Blood Sweat and Tears and the early Chicago. The record was released this summer. Currently were already working on our third record. Right now, we are testing the material in our live shows and the record is due to be released next spring... hopefully.

SOUNDS LIKE
Most of all we sound like Barry Black and the White Temptations, but besides that we play soul, funk and rare groove. All of us believe that 1973 was the best year in modern music. And... you can tell that from what we play. But we like some new stuff, too. So we just wait and see were the road will lead us to - maybe a dj remix album of our songs? Who knows?
