Something About Me

Barry Blade, this is my name. I grew up in a small village in Italy until 1994.
My passion for music has started when I was six years old, when I received my first Bontempi keyboard.
Later I started playing the saxophone and in 1992 I started with drums.
In 1995 I played punk-rock music with my band called Frequenza Alternativa, founded by me and my mate Riccardo.
In 1996 I met a crew with my same passion for hip-hop and with them I founded "IL MALAFFARE" project; with my friend Edoardo, in the same time, I founded "L'ONORATA SOCIETA'", another band, and I printed my first rap album, very very west-coast oriented :).
Better known, in that period, as Andy Calabrese, I participated to many jam sessions and hip hop parties, and I worked in a radio show called "BENVENUTO IN MIA CASA" as a speaker/dj.
Between 1998 and 1999 I worked as a reporter in WEEKEND E DINTORNI, a local show, leading an hip-hop space called 4 DIMENSIONI. Unfortunately for many personal reasons I left the music world for a while, but in 2000 I decided to start again, changing totally my music preferences from hip hop to house music.
I bought his first MK 1200's and began to play house music in some clubs in Pescara.
My first live set was in 2001, at EVA KANT DISCO CLUB; then, I have worked in many other clubs(1926 Pescara, 693 HILLS Pescara, MOVIDA, Montesilvano, ACQUOLINA Pescara), but mainly in many one nights and rave parties.
In 2006 I started a partnership with Ivan Iacobucci: it was the beginning of the label Tracks4dj.com Digital Records, a record label focused on quality music from talented producers. Take a look on our releases on beatport. After one year, we decided to take the most downloaded tracks on vinyl: Smoke Joke Records is the name of the Vinyl label where the EP "Smoking Area" was released.
Actually I'm completely focused on Tracks4dj's promotion and on my productions, and I hope to let you listen to some tracks asap.
