My name is Barry Harris and I am 16 years old. I am a multitalented musician who writes and plays my own music.
Everything you hear is all me. I am the producer, do all the recording and editing, mixing, lead and background vocals, piano, orchestra arrangement, and all the other instruments. I have written over 100 songs and the music to two full musicals. One of them, “Alice In Wonderland the Musical“, that I wrote when I was 11yrs old was staged to Sold-Out crowds, at the prestigious Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, PA and in two other cities. I was also hired to be the Musical Director and vocal coach for the Bucks County production.
People call me a “Mini Barry Manilow” because I can sing and play on the piano ANY Barry Manilow song from memory. I also enjoy playing my original songs, Broadway, Pop, Jazz and Classic Rock.
I was very busy in the summer of “05” in 3 states! I did 3 LIVE solo, 2 hour concerts for the “City of Brotherly Love,” Philadelphia, PA at Love Park. I also did a music showcase at the Delaware State Fair, DE and the Yamaha Summer 2005 Piano Festival at the Hamilton Mall, NJ where I played Elton John’s Red piano from Live 8.
The summer of “06” was a busy one too! I was one of 12 finalists in the New Jersey Icon “NJICON” at the Windrift Hotel & Resort in Avalon, NJ, plus I was selected as a finalist at the Media Theater for “Delco Idol”.
Following in the foot steps of Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi, I wrote the New Theme song for Ocean City, New Jersey.
Summer of “07” I was chosen one out of only 60 kids in the whole country to attend “Grammy Camp“. It was a 3 week music program in California where I got the opportunity to work with Grammy award winning talent.
Here are some shows that I have appeared on
Entertainment Tonight, Dr. Phil, Larry King Live, American Idol Junior, NBC 10!, Fox 29, CBS 3, America’s Most Talented Kids, Comcast 8 News,. and reported the weather on CBS 3 KYW in Philadelphia live.
