About me:
I write speculative fiction: from SF to horror. My science fiction tales are sometimes dark, sometimes humorous while my horror stories range from understated psychological to full-on gorefest.
I’ve been a fan of speculative fiction from the moment I first saw the film Forbidden Planet on TV at the tender age of six or seven and there is a strong family rumour that I’m a descendant of the Dorset poet, William Barnes, so I guess it was almost inevitable that I’d start writing fiction some day.My tales have been published in numerous print publications; a few recent ones are listed below:
My dark tale of Victorian London, The Cupboard in Room 9, is about to be published in chapbook format.
A short horror collection, Matinee, is currently available to buy from Ghostwriter Publications.
'Opening Night' is the opening tale in the anthology: Creature Feature
My short story 'Your House From The Sky' is set to appear in the forthcoming anthology: Dead Ends.
'Eldora's' is published in the anthology: Old Blood, New Souls.
'Encounter With the Dead' appears in the Halloween 2007 special of Estronomicon.
'Meet Your Maker' is published in issue #41 of Black Petals.
'Rite of Passage' appears in issue #40 of Black Petals.
'In the Rivermen's Lair' was published in issue #2 of Hub Magazine
'The Tree and the Switch' appears in issue #38 of Black Petals.
My tale 'The Strange Disappearance of Liam Nichols' is the opening story in the Hadesgate anthology Tiny Terrors Vol.1
My short story 'As Good as it Gets' is published in issue #37 of Black Petals.
'The Dead Which Were In It' appears in issue #13 of Whispers of Wickedness.

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!
There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.
Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."
And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."
