I have the honor of playing with some of the finest musicians in NE AR. Being "Semi-Pro" it is hard to have the same band for every show, so there is a list of great players that I get to share the stage with.
First, bass players.Elton Allen usually fills this spot. He is a Nashville Player and is top rate, both musically and personally. It is great to have him as a friend and a bass player. When he can't make it Brad Owen or Gary Cremeens fill that spot.
Drummers are either David O'Neal, Skeeter Nash, Mitch Trotter, Gary Cremeens, or Jim Gramling. All of these guys are awesome players and a joy to play with.
On steel and guitar we try to get Robby Springfield whenever we can. If you haven't heard this guy, you are missing something. Always inspiring and challenging me to be better, he is the best and I love the nights I get to pick with him.
Guitar Players-Jerry Wynn, Clarence White, Eddie Shaver, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Steve Gaines, Toy Caldwell, Charlie Daniels, Tommy Crane, Roy Nichols, Warren Haynes, Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, Jerry Reed, Mark Knopfler, BB King, SRV, Eric Clapton.
Singers-Songwriters- Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Ronnie Van Zant, Greg Allman, Billy Joe Shaver, Kris Kristofferson, Travis Tritt, Ronnie Milsap.
Sounds Like
A homebrew Telecaster played through a modified 5E3 tweed amp circuit. Cuz that's what it is.
I am the guitarist for my beautiful wife, Angie Penny. I love Tele's and tube amps, am a die-hard gear head with a perpetual case of G.A.S. (gear acquisition syndrome) and love to play and hear others play live music. I also do guitar repair for Guit-Down Music in Jonesboro and have been known to build a guitar once in great while. One of the biggest thrills to me is playing on stuff I have made. My guitar, amp, and even my strap are stuff that I have done either by myself or, in the case of my amp, with the help of a friend, thanks Dan. Angie and I have three children, Haley-17 Kelsey-15 and Cody-10 all of which are very musical, a point of great pride to me. I used to think it didn't get any better than playing with a hot band backing a great singer, then my kids stepped on stage with me and took it to a whole new level.
