"Hello and welcome to Bart Klepka's Game Remixes site! As you may have guessed, my name is Bart Klepka and this website is dedicated to my musical creations.
About five years ago I came across a program on a BBS known as Scream Tracker. After some initial experimentation I quickly discovered how easy it was to compose music using simple wave samples. Ever since then I have dedicated much of my time to writing music, and although I have moved on to bigger and better software titles since then, the concept is still the same.
Over the years I have become very attached to music, especially the music I write myself. It's one of the few things in life that makes me truly happy. It has this incredible ability to raise my spirit when I feel down. Recently I decided to combine my love of musical composition with another great love in my life, computer games. The result of this combination is this website and the music I regularly post here. Originally this was just going to be another of my many projects, but the way it's turned out, I am now writing the majority of my music for it.
If you have already listened to some of my remixes, it is obvious I'm not a top 40 kind of guy. I would without hesitation choose Williams, Silvestri or Elfman over Cher, Backstreet Boys or what have you. I especially like game and movie soundtracks as they extend beyond the limitations of mere sound. They are carefully engineered to compliment a visual theme, to express through sound the story or idea the cinematographers and game designers wish to purvey. You cannot fully appreciate music until it has found its way inside of you and touched your heart, soul and mind.
Remixing the music from a game is my way of portraying a personal image in my mind relating to that game. For example, all three parts of the Command & Conquer trilogy had superb music that made you feel powerful and in command, transforming you from Joe Blow into a military commander. If I had the money to purchase adequate equipment I would be creating video clips for my remixes as well, hopefully giving my audience an even better insight into my thoughts.
Someday I hope to become an accomplished musician and write music professionally, but until then, I will continue writing music for many years to come. I just can't help it."
