James's Blurbs |
About me:
A Kentish Man by birth, I grew up captivated by the mysterious charm and enigma of the northern counties; twenty years on the enchantment is still there in abundance. As a former army officer and a physician by profession, and with a passion about life in general and the arts in particular, my aim is to extract every drop of magic from the world around me. I now divide my time between my medical practice in the market town of Barton upon Humber, and the life of a writer amidst the wild expanses of the North Yorkshire Dales. Just for pleasure, I am presently studying for a BA(Hons) degree in English Language & Literature. Often accused of ‘burning the candle at both ends’, I am a great fan of a line from A. E. Housman’s poem, A Shropshire Lad: Up, lad: when the journey's over There'll be time enough to sleep.
