My favorite composers are the mainstream big ones: Mozart, Bach, Beethoven. For classical guitar however, I felt that the repertoire is relatively limited, one of the reasons that I hope my compositions might fall in fertile ground. For the more intimate sound of the classical guitar, I feel more influenced by the romantic composers that specialized in piano miniatures, such as Schumann and Chopin. At the same time I am fascinated by counterpoint and voiceleading and I always pay particular interest in having those elements worked out in detail, which for classical guitar is one of the most challenging aspects of composition.

I would classify most of my music as early romanticism, hopefully similar to Schumann and perhaps even those moments where Beethoven maintains a less agressive sound.
Although I followed different paths after completing my education at the conservatory of Amsterdam, I have always remained passionate about classical music. Here on MySpace, I would like to share some of my compositions for classical guitar, hoping that they will be played, listened to and appreciated. If you like what you hear and you would be interested in looking into the scores of these pieces, please let me know and I can send you the scores in pdf-files.
