We're lucky enough to have played at the Unabombers' Electric Elephant festival in Croatia this summer. Also there were the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Four Tet, Theo Parrish, Joakim, Horse Meat Disco and Diso Bloodbath. Suffice to say it was ace.
We also did a mix to celebrate our participation in the festival. Here's the link:
Following the great response to our recent Electric Boogaloo mix, we've unearthed a few of our selections from the 2004-2006 era. Check the links below - they chart the early days of Boogaloo and some of the tunes that were doing it for us back then.
Basement Boogaloo is Nottingham's finest underground party; it's small, but perfectly formed. A dancefloor full of like-minded musical souls, a crystal-clear sound system and some of the best DJ talent from across the disco galaxy.
Over the better part of the past 5 years, we've moved from Bar None (a tiny basement beneath Nottingham's Lace Market) to the Maze (an intimate venue which perfectly suits our sweaty brand of hedonism) via famed bank holiday all-dayers (at the Nag's Head and the Canalhouse) and appearances at the Electric Chair and Croatia's Garden Festival, amongst others.
In that time we've been privileged to welcome a fine selection of family and friends to the night. In no particular order, they include:
Ashley Beedle; Horse Meat Disco; Faze Action; Daniele Baldelli; Cosmo; Ame; Maurice Fulton; Domu; Crazy P; Greg Wilson; Stuart Patterson; Dave Jarvis; Unabombers; Ilija Rudman; Zed Bias; Chris Duckenfield; Yam Who?; Electric Minds; James Holroyd; Rob Bright; Schmoov!; Office Gossip; Atjazz; Mudd; Red Rack 'Em; Rhythm Plate; Winston Hazel; Moonboots; Alex Phountzi (Bugz in the Attic); Alex Chase (Stones Throw / One-Handed Music); Tom Giles (Clause 4); Jon K (Eyes Down); Solid State (Society); Chris Lowlife (Lights Down Low); Simon Mansell & DJ Da Costa (Southport Weekender); Annabel Fraser (Hupendi); Keep On Magazine DJs; Rick Donohue; Deepsoul3; Jigsawmusic; Francis Wooff; Fran Green; Mr Hill (aka Dru Skillz); Legendary Tone; Mark Rayner....
Here are some clips of Basement Boogaloo rocking the boat we hosted with Ireland's Downtown Sounds and External Sounds at the Electric Elephant, August 2009:

"Larry and I would blow up balloons, set up the food bar, prepare the punch, and give out acid, but we also spent a lot of time in the DJ booth, watching Nicky's every move. He pretty much taught us what he was doing". says Frankie Knuckles We're doing another Love Fever Party on November 7th... This time we've got NYC Legend Nicky Siano over for a proper disco session. We'll be putting our usual Love Fever attention to detail into the sound system, decor, staff, artwork, balloons, roller girls, projections, etc. And music wise we're got a Funktion One system and two rooms of underground disco new and old. Expect a night of disco fuelled Love Fever debauchery. www.lovefever.org for tickets and info ..

DCREC034 – Javier Orlando & Raul Carrasco “Thinking in the Night” DeepClass Records – DEEP HOUSE Javier Orlando & Raul Carrasco, two Argentine producers that present EP to us with highly addictive rates and elements house that makes of this EP a concept deep of the present time. Solid bases and grooves, keyboards Hammond and melodies that gives a warm frame. FX synthesized of surprising way they show a new dimension to us within Deep House. Low solids to the style Bill Waymann or Primus. His amused sample "Music" along of track creates immediately a positive atmosphere doing of "Thinking in the night" true inspiration. It contains remixes in charge of Jimmy & Fer Ferrari, Lukas Greenberg & L.E.O.
