..
Basement Film Productions was set up in 2005 to provide opportunities for members with a diverse range of skills to work in collaboration toward the production and promotion of independent films, documentaries, music and event promotional videos.
Our first documentary "A Short Film About Blondie Fans," featuring a Blondie show in the UK, interviews with the band and some very dedicated fans, was selected for screening during CINECITY: The Brighton Film Festival, December 2008. The documentary was also part of the official festival selection for BRITISH SHORTS: The 2nd Lichstpielklub Short Film Festival in Berlin, January 2009 and the 2nd Babelgum Online Film Festival.
Basement Film Productions have been been working with a number of artists and musicians, producing event promotional and music videos, visual media and projections, as well as devising filming and editing workshops for young people.
In 2007 we were involved in organising and promoting the debut UK/Europe Tour of Toronto based band Kelly and the Kellygirls. We were also shooting a documentary on the whole experience, "Kelly Doesn't Play Well With Others" which was screened during The Toronto Film Festival in Canada 2008 and during the Brighton Fringe Festival in May 2009, as part of a Basement Films showcase.
This year Basement Film Productions have been working with Brighton Carnival and Brighton Pride and we are looking forward to taking part in as well as documenting ACT ART 7: Children of the Damned Friday 6th November 2009.
100 Artists. 1 Venue. 1 Night:
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone with passion and creativity who wants to make films.
Anyone with a band or event to promote.

THE RETURN OF THE BAT
Specimen will bring their special brand of glam mayhem, The Batcave to London again.
After last year’s wildly-successful 25th anniversary Batcave event, The Batcave returns to its original spawning ground of London’s West End on Sunday July 19 for another night of blasphemy, lechery and blood.
Specimen (Fresh from a fantastic show at Leipzig’s Waves Gotik festival), the original Batcave instigators will headline the lurid frolics at the Embassy Club, (29 Old Burlington St, London W1S3AP) Also on the bill are original Batcavers Sexbeat, with DJs Hamish and Cavey Nick, cavorting from decks to decadence with the usual brutal, trouser-dropping surprises & suitably confronting & barbaric entertainment.
The 2009 Batcave will feature installations from exciting new artists of the ‘Dark London Underground’ and visuals from the upcoming ‘Welcome To The Batcave’ book, along with this year’s bitcrushed message from the creature in the Batcave Pram. All set in a spooky Bladerunner environment!
So dress to kill … prepare for a thrill & Expect the unexpected!
The Batcave will be open from 10pm till 3am. Tickets £15 available from www.ticketweb.co.uk and Resurrection Records.

Miss it at your peril!
