Band MembersThe Basement Jazz Sessions are brought to you by WTF Music. This is a group of musicians who wish to provide lovers of live jazz with the increasingly rare opportunity to eat, drink, and chat, whilst listening to first-rate music that could definitely not be described as dinner jazz.

This is the WTF jazz-funk band, whose MySpace profile you can see at www.myspace.com/wtfjazzfunk.

Sounds LikeREAL jazz with REAL people:

spontaneous & brave, we've got a world to save;

mellow & moody, a thing of beauty;

anything but clean, like a sex machine;

funky & bluesy, picky & choosy;

all in good taste, not a note to waste;

full of soul, we're on a roll;

a meditation, a prayer, a groove oh so rare;

what's right, what's true: something old, something new.

Robert Mitchell 3io + WTF
BJS December 2007 - Robert Mitchell 3io + WTF
Robert Mitchell is one of the most talented and thrilling jazz pianists in the UK, with a broad appeal that has seen him nominated for BBC Jazz Awards and play in session on Gilles Peterson's Worldwide radio show. He will be performing with his trio, featuring Tom Mason on bass and Richie Spaven on drums.

For more, see Robert's MySpace profile, where you can see and hear the trio in action at London's Vortex (second and fourth videos). Also check out Richie Spaven and Tom Mason on MySpace by clicking on their photos in the friends section.

WTF are a London-based sextet playing their own powerful brew of jazz improvisation over funk-driven grooves.

For more, see their MySpace profile and their official website.

The Basement Jazz Sessions are a monthly series of live jazz and other music in the Brook's basement bar near Hammersmith, West London. They combine two magical ingredients:

top-class music, painstakingly selected to avoid the humdrum and old-hat, and

an intimate, relaxed atmosphere in a basement bar serving great food and drinks.

The sessions take place on the first Tuesday of every month, and all the information concerning forthcoming performances will be available on this page. WTF Music, the organisers of these sessions, would love to hear from you all about your opinions on the nights and who you would like to see playing in the future. The Basement Jazz Sessions is all about showcasing the finest innovative and fresh jazz around and creating a vibe that will bring the best out of the musicians and audience alike. So join the family and enjoy the show!

The full address of the venue is:
Brook's Bar, Brook Green Hotel, 170 Shepherds Bush Road, London W6 7PB.
Information concerning how to reach the venue can be found here.

For further information and bookings, you can email us at theband@wtfmusic.com.

Dear Basement Jazz Sessions,

Hope all's well with you

I'll be playing at the famous 606 CLUB, CHELSEA, LONDON on SUNDAY the 9th of DECEMBER 2007 with my relentlessly groovy 5 piece band.

It would be fab if you were to join us on the night to celebrate the end of our 2007 "DEVOURED MAN TOUR"
May the Soul & the funk be with you... Always!

Hello! Hope you can make it to this...

Special offer for a special night:

Love Bowie's seminal albums Low and 'Heroes'? Then be excited, be very excited...

What: Dylan Howe and The Subterraneans (feat. Portishead's Adrian Utley, Stranglers' Hugh Cornwell, sax genius Gilad Atzmon,
the Solid Strings and a plethora of UK talent) perform a one-of reimagining of David Bowie's Low and 'Heroes' as part of the London Jazz Festival - and we want you to be there!

Where: Cargo, Shoreditch, London EC1

When: Sunday 25th November.

Plus, generous souls that we are, we have a special 'early bird' offer of £10 on advance tickets (instead of £12.50/£15 on the door on the night)

Email Joe.R@cantaloupegroup.co.uk - with your ticket requests - mentioning you're the Dylan Howe mailing list and you'll get each ticket for £10.

(NB. This offer expires on Monday 19th of November)

Don't miss this super-special night :)

Thanks for the support.

DH and ZSH

Snap up the Dylan Howe Quintet's new, acclaimed and final album 'Translation 2: Standards and Previews' for a piffling £5! But for the first 50 customers only, so get on it!

And there's more! We are now offering 'Translation Volume One' AND 'Translation 2: Standards & Previews' for just £10! (Normally £20)

Go to our page and just clink on the button under the offer to snap up the goodies. Well, they DO go together and they'd get lonely without each other...

You can also now buy Dylan Howe's first album 'The Way I Hear It' and second album 'This Is It' on our page too - £7.00 each - cheaper than iTunes...

Take advantage of our generous mood and get on that page, hepcats!

Groovy...
