The Basement Jazz Sessions are brought to you by WTF Music. This is a group of musicians who wish to provide lovers of live jazz with the increasingly rare opportunity to eat, drink, and chat, whilst listening to first-rate music that could definitely not be described as dinner jazz.

Robert Mitchell 3io + WTF
Robert Mitchell is one of the most talented and thrilling jazz pianists in the UK, with a broad appeal that has seen him nominated for BBC Jazz Awards and play in session on Gilles Peterson's Worldwide radio show. He will be performing with his trio, featuring Tom Mason on bass and Richie Spaven on drums.
For more, see Robert's MySpace profile, where you can see and hear the trio in action at London's Vortex (second and fourth videos). Also check out Richie Spaven and Tom Mason on MySpace by clicking on their photos in the friends section.
WTF are a London-based sextet playing their own powerful brew of jazz improvisation over funk-driven grooves.
The Basement Jazz Sessions are a monthly series of live jazz and other music in the Brook's basement bar near Hammersmith, West London. They combine two magical ingredients:
top-class music, painstakingly selected to avoid the humdrum and old-hat, and
an intimate, relaxed atmosphere in a basement bar serving great food and drinks.
The sessions take place on the first Tuesday of every month, and all the information concerning forthcoming performances will be available on this page. WTF Music, the organisers of these sessions, would love to hear from you all about your opinions on the nights and who you would like to see playing in the future. The Basement Jazz Sessions is all about showcasing the finest innovative and fresh jazz around and creating a vibe that will bring the best out of the musicians and audience alike. So join the family and enjoy the show!
