The BASIK concept was conceived to fill a void in the dance culture of Limburg (Belgium). Childhood friends and techno addicts Double U Jay (Wouter Janssen) & Michael Sense (Michael Swennen) had become very much aware of the lack of a techno scene in their parts.
The first parties followed shortly, making it clear that there were more likeminded people out there, not only in Limburg but also in the rest of Belgium. Friends were made, new talents such as Afrodisiak discovered and the necessary connections forged. Michael and Wouter were truly impressed by the Afrodisiak duo and asked them to join the resident team. BASIK party visitors made it clear that there are lots of techno addicts out there who feel the same need to hear techno - feel techno - party to techno.
After several succesful editions in the Bootleg Café in Neerpelt, the BASIK machine grinded to a halt with the announced closing of their beloved location. The quest is on to find a new location and new partners. Rest assured, we will not rest till we can put our concept back on the map. To keep you saturated with the necessary techno sounds, you can find a huge load of recorded sets online. Next to that, we are planning a BASIK mixing session, more news on that coming soon...
