Even in the magical music scene of NYC, there still doesn't seem to be enough vintage reggae music to go around. In an attempt to deliver more heavyweight vibrations of the reggae kind to the music lovers of this great city, two long-time supporters of reggae music have founded Bass Culture NYC: Carter Van Pelt (host of the WKCR 89.9FM "Eastern Standard Time" program 8am-10am every Saturday and a regular contributor to The Beat and Wax Poetics) and Dave Hahn (guitarist and dub engineer from Dub Is A Weapon). These two selectors have spent years amassing a stunning collection of hard-to-find reggae vinyl, and enjoy nothing more then spinning their stacks of wax for all the reggae and dub heads of NYC. Expect other guest selectors, vocalists, and deejays to appear alongside this core crew in the days, months, and years to come...
