Bassistry will be releasing 2 new of tracks over the coming month. Produced with Cassell ‘the beatmaker.’ (drummer for Akala, Plan B and Keziah Jones). Bassistry will be back in the studio laying down tracks for the Bassistry EP due out in early 2009. The working title is ‘What The Hell Do You Call This?

Video & Animation - Multimedia guru, artist and colleague Mark Welland has created a video and animation for Mad About U and It’s Only. You can check these out and review on Youtube.

‘In Time’ for television - Bassistry’s second album ‘In Time’ is currently having tracks adapted by composer Terry Devine-King for television and media use. HR Records re-released on 25th August 2008. Buy now on i-tunes!

Other Stuff - Worked with film composer/music editor Michael Price (Wild Child, Lord of the Rings, Love Actually) on a new music/multimedia project commissioned by Sibelius/Avid Technology (Digidesign). Marcel bass playing features on electronica protégé Robert Logan forthcoming new album. Katy Seath has set up her own vocal company ‘Courage to Sing.’

About Us: Bassistry Music Productions employs many talented artists. We compose for television, (BBC, ITV and Channel 4), multimedia, education, develop and produce music software (via O-Music Ltd). Bassistry works closely with Sibelius Music Software/Avid Technology distribute our software worldwide. Other collaborations include producing with Cassell ‘the beatmaker’ (Akala, Keziah Jones, Plan B) featuring Eric Appapoulay (Nitin Sawhney, Natasha Bedingfield, Craig David), Wez er Nat, and Bassistry. Robert Logan.

History - Bassistry, the band and Award Winning Production Company were formed by composer/bassist, Marcel Pusey in 1995. Bassistry’s self-titled Jazz Groove debut album was released in 1996 through German Indie label, Okapi Records. It featured pianist Dave Maric (Steve Martland Band, Katia & Maria Labeque), Mervin Samuels (Saxophones), Cynthia Simmons (Voice), Philippe d’Amonville (drums) and Andrew Tween (Percussion). Bassistry performed in Germany and in the UK. In Time, was released in 2005. Featuring some of London’s most exciting young players, Duncan Mckay, (Incognito, Primal Scream, etc), Sam Agard (Corinne Bailey Rae), Alex Bennett (Corinne Bailey Rae), Jamie Trowell, Jules Faife (Netsayi) and two fantastically gifted vocalists, Katy Seath and Nicola Bull. In Time was released through HR Records and was reviewed by Jazzwise as ‘like Incognito and Brand New Heavies but a little grittier. In these days of hackney formulaic radio friendly music this bands raw musicality is refreshing.’

New EP – Produced with Cassell ‘the beatmaker’ Bassistry’s new material has been stripped down. We have spent time trying to define a production style based on minimal instrumentation, blocked vocal harmonies, yet retaining that characteristic Bassistry groove.
