Bassline Promotion & Management (Paris) or BPM as people now refer to us has been up and running for close to a year now. We have been privilaged to host a large number of music events featuring a wide range of bands and artists in bars, pubs and music venues in Paris, Rouen, Reims, Montpellier, Bruxelles and London.
One of the principles objectives of BPM was to create a "live" platform for emerging bands and artists. We've had the pleasure of organising Holstenwall's first live gig, and were suitably impressed by their performance.
We brought Les Singes down from Amsterdam and Les Pauls up from Toulouse. De La Jolie Musique somehow managed to fit thirteen people on stage at Le Motel. The Agency went electro and wore funny hats. Viking Moses and Golden Ghost came over from somewhere in the USA. Joe The Lion roared in front of 150 people one night, and purred in front of 5 another. The Minnie Moskowitz were huge. Some gigs were free and other you got your monies worth. Above all we listened and danced to great music. Actually, Earle Holmes dances. Nico Prat just won't.
The monday night open mic at Le Truskel has proved to be a great success. We have had some brilliant new artists and voices along with the regular stalwarts. It must be said that there have been a couple of shockers too. As well as many celebs (The Cribs, Adam Green...).
We recently organised the Pop Up Festival with Voxpop Magazine in Paris which went off like a song. The Wombats played a great acoustic gig at Le Chacha and then DJed 'til dawn. Sourya, Kid Bombardos and Sh**browne rocked La Maroquinerie. It was a great way to kick-start the year.
After which, Patrick Bower gave two impromptu concerts in Paris with his band The World Without Magic. Having a musician of this quality from Brooklyn, NY playing here was a great pleasure and a musical revelation.
BPM also manages Control Club, Nina Bobsing, and Miggles Christ. Control Club recently released their first album, "Morphine Ballroom", which is available in all relative music outlets. Nina Bobsing release their first single EP on A Quick One Records by the end of 2009. Miggles Christ formed in group and are recently back from their first gig in London.
So now that we all enjoy drinking English wine, let's drink some more.

quelques frayeurs vocales dans les coins.
Suivi par un mix terrrrible du MBGC aka Mojo, Kraspek et Vv,
old scary rock, synthés romerien et elektroflip, ambiance bal des vampire déjantée.

Suite
à la mise sur orbite par Cap Carnaval du festival Gone and roll, nos 5
musiciens se sont trouvés fort dépourvus, la bise étant… venue. Sofff a
noyé son chagrin dans les guimauves grillées, Paco dans le la graisse de moteur,
Palem dans le cinéma expérimental Suisse, Pedro dans la dernière rediffusion de
Koh Lanta et JL dans les nightclubs glauques d’un Paris trop petit
pour un désespoir trop grand. Pendant ce temps Snifff (le chat) enfin rentré
de son dernier colloque « Maow : significations intrinsèques du
malaise félin ou cyberculture et croquettes l’antinomie est à nos portes
bordel » se battait pour réorganiser la suite de la tournée mondiale en
France. C’est donc accompagnés de Julia Battle et Staircaise Wisp qu’ils
donneront assaut aux Disquaires (Paris le 27 octobre, 20h30, entrée libre) Et
le 31 octobre qu’ils en remettront une couche avec Moon Reapers et Mick
Hypnotik Sensation au Prado en plus c’est Halloween donc tout peut arriver
(Rouen, 21h00, 2 euros tarif syndical). On part en live ?

Petit rappel du concept : pour ces rendez-vous trimestriels, Pollyanna
et Reza ouvrent la soirée en acoustique avec 3 morceaux chacun, avant le
laisser la place à un invité venu d'ailleurs pour un full-show unique.
Pour cette 5e édition, nous avons la joie d'accueillir V.O. , projet de
Boris Gromberger, guitariste de Françoiz Breut, batteur de Soy un
Caballo et fer de lance de l'excellent label belge Matamore.
Le Vieux Léon, c'est sympa, bien situé (métro Etienne Marcel, rue de la
Grande Truanderie), l'entrée est gratuite et c'est toujours entre 20h30
et 22h00.
