About me: Born the same year that Fender started selling bass guitars. Raised by Chicago radio stations WLS, WCFL, WOPA and WVON; disc jockeys Dick Biondi, Clark Weber, Art Roberts, Big Bill Hill, E. Rodney Jones and especially Pervis Spann, the Blues Man.
The five string fretless bass was designed and hand built in 1991 by master luthier Bishop Cochran. www.bishopcochranmusic.com. The body is koa; the graphite-reinforced neck is rosewood with an ebony fingerboard and LED position markers. The hardware includes a Kahler bridge, Gotoh tuners and active Bartolini pick ups. The sound is deep, rich and clear, and the perfectly balanced design gives it great playability. String length is 34". The neck is a full two inches comfortably wide at the nut, with the string spacing the same as an old-school Precision bass, 7/16" center to center.
