About me:
.. I’m living out a dream. I’m on the Bassmaster Elite Series tour, and that means I fish for a living. That, for me, is living a really good dream. I grew up in the 1970s and 80s in a small town on the Kanawha River called Cedar Grove, West Virginia. I live about 20 miles from there in Sissonville, West Virginia, just up the road from the “big city” - Charleston. I got on myspace to catch up with old friends and make some new ones My goal is the same as every one of the 100 or so anglers on the Elite Series tour. It’s to become the best angler in the country. I guess I’m probably the highest ranked professional angler to come from West Virginia. I’m the only one from my state on the Elite Series tour, and I take that role seriously. There are a few things I’d like to do professionally. As I said, I’d like to have success on the Elite Series tour. And I want to use that success to promote fishing in West Virginia. But I also like to talk about a couple of other things. I’d like to help people understand the benefits of coal mining to my state and the rest of the country. And I’d like to make sure people understand that we need to take every measure we can - as individuals and businesses - to protect the quality of our water. When I talk to groups in West Virginia I tell them something that not everyone in my state gets. I tell them that the water around active and abandoned coal mines is almost always some of the cleanest, healthiest flowing water you’ll find. And the fishing around mine sites is fantastic. That’s actually the reason I asked the Friends of Coal to be my main sponsor. Anyway, that’s a little about me. Another thing is that I’m probably not exactly what you’d expect from a fisherman from West Virginia who grew up in a coal mining family. I definitely like to fish and hunt, but I also like new technology and rap music. What I’d like to do on this site is tell you a little about what it’s like on the Elite Series tour. I’ll tell you about the lakes and the rivers we go to. And I’ll talk about fishing generally. I’ll even try to make myself tell you what it’s like when I have a bad day. I have a tendency to take those days hard, but I’ll do my best.Who I'd like to meet:
