Born in Glens Falls, NY, Bat McGrath began his musical career in a rock band called “The Showstoppers”. Legendary talent scout John Hammond signed the group to Columbia Records and they released two singles. When that band broke up, Bat and Don Potter formed a duo and released an album called “Introducing” on Epic Records.
In 1970 Bat wrote the lyrics for Chuck Mangione’s “Friends & Love” and performed in the live concert.
In the late 70’s Bat recorded two highly acclaimed solo lp’s on Amherst Records called “From the Blue Eagle” and “The Spy”. Next came a foreign release of an album Bat recorded in Scotland called “Whatever Happened To Jousting”, followed by a CD on Mirror Records called “Mr. Right”.
After moving to Nashville Bat has released three CD’s on his own label titled “Back In Love Again”, “So I Do” and "Communicate"
Bat has had his songs recorded by Wynonna Judd, Kenny Rogers, Earl Thomas Conley, Chely Wright, Chalee Tennison, Chad Austin, John Landry, and Eclipse.

Hey Bat - Seamus is adorable ... Liam is a darn good-looking young man and Casey just looks like she has the greatest personality going! You should be proud!
Hey bat! Don't know how often you check the Hylie Morris Yahoo Group site, but I found some memorabilia and posted it there., Including reviews of "Introducing...", Freddie"s Walkin', and that Upstate Magazine cover story from 1970. Thought you might like to check them out. Keep being you.

Hey Bat, I was going through some stuff for a yard sale and guess what I found? A set of drumsticks that I believe were a "gift" from the Showstoppers drummer, back in, oh, '65 or '66 at a CYO dance? I kept 'em! Love hanging on your site listening to your music. Great new pic too!
