ALTSOUNDS
'No need to brand them, they deserve their own identity as they hold their own unique sound... If you want to follow one of ‘the’ new bands, go buy their EP.'
'Think of them like the safest, warmest, happiest place you were when you were young. You know, that place where you wanted for nothing, that’s the effect that Battle For Prague have!'
HIGH VOLTAGE
Battle for Prague surprise me with the sincere emotion that shines from the four songs on their debut EP. Subtle in its structure but honest and heartfelt in its sentiments, you can genuinely believe the emotions portrayed and this EP is in simple terms, beautiful.
With comparisons to great music heroes such as Elbow, Bloc Party and Arcade Fire, Battle for Prague would fit seamlessly into today’s music trends.
SKYWALKER INDIE REVIEWS
'When I first herd the title of this band, Battle for Prague; I expected larger-than-life riffs, blockbuster melodies and killer tunes. Thankfully I was not disappointed.'
'These lads know how to hold their own with lyrics and tracks that send their listeners to far off destinations, most thought only to be accessible through fantasy books we once read as children.'
COLLECTIVE-ZINE
'Nicely paced indie rock in the manner of Built to Spill or the first Band of Horses LP, and if you are the kind of by the book indie rocker who enjoys guitar strummage and decent tunes then give them a go.'
'Battle for Prague do things like play really smart repetetive basslines or wander into pleasant jangles that tick over for a while, instead of being in a horrid hurry to get on to the next bit of the song.'
MUSIC 4M
‘Car/Plane/Boat’ is sensational. It’s subtle and moving, the singer sounds as if his heart has been broken so many times it’s pieced together by paperclips.'
'Clearly a band that aren’t afraid to bear their soul, head straight to their myspace and join the Battle For Prague.'
ROCKBEATSTONE
'The song is a pretty, vitriolic lament in the vein of Bloc Party or Arcade Fire. The quest for good heartfelt sweeping vitriol is one which I think we'd all sign up for, and this is very good indeed.'
RUSSELL’S REVIEWS
'Lead track Hundred Feet Below is like a languid version of Kings Of Leon, which is no bad thing. The less frantic type of tune lets the melody wash over you in a lovely way as guitars spiral the tune upwards, the drums anchoring it in a stabbing fashion.'
It’s not a quiet life, it’s managing to wake up every day and not give in. Sit in traffic, it's better than being in the office, you can change the station. Put some money away every month saving for a rainy day, a car, a house, something you already have but better. Wouldn't you rather be on a beach? Let’s run to the Galapagos and watch turtles f**k in the sun. I'd miss TV. Google your friends. Reinvent yourself on the Internet. Set yourself realistic goals, like making it through the next hour. The 21st century is a scary place. Worry about the environment, nanotechnology, cloning, and globalisation, but don’t panic, you’ll probably die before it all implodes. Vote for none of the above. Change your politics when you see your pay slip, the more you get paid the less you seem to do. Aspire to be the manager that you hate. Write I am bored a thousand times on your spreadsheet, wash your mug, go home, and listen to Battle for Prague.
We are 4 musicians who want to make music that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, because the right song at the right moment makes it all good. Lets laugh and cry, and feel alive……… Battle for Prague
