About me:

I'm never good at writing these sorts of things. Yet, here I am wasting my time and yours by being a total narcissist for all the interwebs to see. Let's see... I'm in a 6 year relationship with an adorable goofball named Ben. We just got engaged; our wedding is set for June 20, 2009. I'm a senior in college, majoring in psychology with a minor in chemistry. I plan on going to grad school to become a school psychologist. I play lots of video games, especially World of Warcraft, Fable 2, and Guitar Hero.

Favorite Quotes:
"Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love… true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in."
- Hub (Robert Duvall), in Secondhand Lions

"There are two ways to slide easily through life; to believe everything or to doubt everything. Both ways save us from thinking."
- Alfred Korzybski

"You see this little hole? This moth’s just about to emerge. It’s in there right now, struggling. It’s digging it’s way through the thick hide of the cocoon. Now, I could help it - take my knife, gently widen the opening, and the moth would be free - but it would be too weak to survive. Struggle is nature’s way of strengthening it."
- Locke, LOST

"Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule - and both commonly succeed, and are right."
- H. L. Mencken

"A faith that just accepts is a child’s faith and all right for children, but eventually you have to grow religiously as every other way, though some never do. What people don’t realize is how much religion costs. They think faith is a big electric blanket, when of course it is a cross. It is much harder to believe than not to believe. If you feel you can’t believe, you must at least do this: keep an open mind. Keep it open toward faith, keep wanting it, keep asking for it, and leave the rest to God. Don’t expect faith to clear everything up for you. Faith is trust, not certainty."
- Flannery O’Connor

"Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself."
- Leo Tolstoy

"God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world."
- C.S. Lewis

"...Freedom hangs like heaven over everyone Ain't nobody knows what the newborn holds but a dollar says he'll lick that devil and do it alone..."
- Iron & Wine

"The only difference between the saint and the sinner is that every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future."
- Oscar Wilde (Lord Illingworth in A Woman of No Importance)

"I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart so long. If we’re in each others dreams, we can be together all the time."
- Hobbes, Calvin and Hobbes
