Battle Victorious began as the husband/wife duo, Todd and Emily Marriott in 2005. Coming together from North Carolina and Utah, the duo (now based in Memphis) writes about struggle, hope and everything in between.
Battle Victorious radiates true authenticity in their unique blend of harmony & lyrics. The music “mines a Dave Matthews sort-of folk rock vein (Mark Jordan of the Memphis Flyer).” “Todd and Emily Marriott have a winning way with wistful melody and on occasions, like the eerily haunting "I Am Everyone", create top rate alt pop anthems.”(Tony Cummings of Cross Rhythms) Their eclectic folk rock show has grown into an expressive and entertaining performance that leaves you wanting more. “If you are lucky enough to live where they’re playing live, do yourself a favor and see them.” (i-tunes review)
Battle Victorious often performs as a duo. However, in their latest full-length album (Hello, 2009), they are joined by an array of their artist friends. Now you can find the duo touring the southeast and playing at many types of venues. Recently, they have played at the Delta Fair, Minglewood Hall, Otherlands, a naval base, “Live at 9” (WREG TV) and STAX Museum of American Soul Music. Battle Victorious “will play almost anywhere.” Plans for worldwide invasion will soon be at hand! Stay tuned for the latest on their journeys.
