baye is the main electronic music project of mike venezia. mike’s musical career began when he started contributing programming and synthesis work to cult nyc industrial band the aggression. he later started a project called 4th level and with partner justin d’agostino released a series of respected 12"’s on u.k. imprint auk recordings. mike next launched a side project with rj valeo called carbon framework and released one 12" on auk also. after auk’s demise he again worked with the aggression, doing production and remix work and gigging both home and abroad. it was then that he developed his guitar style, and a few years later started in loving memory (http://www.myspace.com/inloving) as an outlet for guitar-based music. with all of the experience (and gear!) amassed from these other projects mike started baye to further develop ideas for (mostly) electronic compositions that require his full control over production. though some of the tracks have various contributors, the one common element to baye tracks is mike at the helm.
