The Bayou Club, the original and best little folk, roots, Americanna gig in Leicester. The Bayou Club began in the early 90s as a full band development of The City Acoustic Club. Both were founded and promoted by Dawson Smith. The Bayou began life in a little concert room above a bakery on Queens Road, Leicester called The Windsor Suite. Mixing acoustic artists and bands playing the best in Folk, Roots and Americanna we had some wonderful nights at THe Bayou and the gig led to a thriving roots music scene being established in Leicester. Now at The Donkey, Welford Rd (at the end of Victoria Park Rd. next to The New Road Inn) Last THURSDAY of every month.
Another dose of Mississippi Chicken flu is on its way,
Friday 27th November downstairs at the Shed. That means you missed
the FABulous Hi and Lo last month.
Effusive, liberalbilly, anti-folk (some say) thanks for throwing open your fold of showbiz luminaries to us, cats and kittens. Frankly, we're a little surprised; it's a day of national - nay, international - mourning after all. Many people are too overcome by sadness for the loss of a complete stranger today to bother making new Internet friends... Never have the words "we barely knew ye" seemed more apposite, eh? Keep it gangsta, and drop by anytime "y'all" (vernacular). CrackTown
The first Bayou Club was great! Norcsalordie Band did an excellent debut set and Steve Parker was his excellent self. Next up The Hi & lo on June 25th followed by The Gadjos on July 27th checkout their sites on Bayou Club Friends
