I’ve lived along the bayous of Louisiana all of my life. Born and raised in Vermilion Parish, I crossed Bayou Tigre many a time to visit my grandparents, always hoping that MawMaw would put on a pot of coffee. As a young adult, I ventured away from my small town, crossing the bridge over Bayou Carlin to go east and reside along Bayou Lafourche while attending Nicholls State University. Today, I reside on the outer most portion of Acadiana, just a short distance from Bayou Gauche.
I am a happily married, working mom (PreK teacher) trying to find and maintain balance in my everyday life. Meaning...I'm normal. Christians are people, too. =)
My biggest battles have been my own consistent inconsistencies...but by God's grace, I am a new creature in Christ! Old things (excuses, fear, procrastination, idleness, and sickness) have passed away...all things are made new! My heart’s desire is to be a steadfast, diligent, and obedient disciple of Jesus Christ...determined to know Him and then to know Him more!
I thank God for allowing me to be a mother and a wife...there are some lessons I would have never learned without this experience. Some lessons...I'm still learning. My committment to my kids is NOT to give them all that money can buy...but rather, to give them a lifetime of memories. I want our home to be a place of refuge...clean and full of joy and laughter. Sometimes the “clean” part leaves something to be desired, but the love in our home covers up a multitude of sticky fingerprints.
The Lord has really done a work in me over the past ten years. Once upon a time, I was a "pit-dweller"...but by the grace of God, I'm going up to the high places to tear down every idol that stands between me and Jesus...even if I have to scale the hilltops with mud still stuck between my toes!

Lafayette. Parc international. This is the 3rd one and it keeps getting bigger. Paula and her crew was out there. I think they had 52 people walking on their team. It's a 1 mile stroll, its really not bad. It's always held the last weekend in March to kick off Autism Awarness Month in April.
